best hair cut ive had in some time. i love the people here too. sweet and cool joint. will most likely go back and recommend.

I finally decided to kick it up a notch and add a little bit of color to my flat black style. I let John hook me up with highlights that turned out to look so natural and rich, I absolutely love it! This was my first time to this salon and I was so happy to have an appointment scheduled, and be in and out of there without any unnessecary waiting.

Got my hair did here and it was an awesome experience. Now that I found this place I'm not going anywhere else.ever!

I've changed my hair style about 5 times the last five 3 yearsnot because, I enjoying keeping up with fashion, but because stylist has ever gotten it right. I made an appoinment to cut my hair and their service was amazing, they took their time to understand what i wanted and they lived up to their promise. I highly recommend this place.

I needed a new place to get my hair done since my usual stylist had moved back to CT to open up her own salon. I decided to start looking around to see if i could find a good place in my area. I came to John Gabriel and the salon was nice and John himself was super nice and very funny. I decided to just go with my instincts and get something done. I got my hair hightlighted and got a hair cut. I usually have a lot of problem with color sticking (and then washing out in a few rinses leaving me with blond highlights which is never what i want!) John did something different and not only has the color held up they look really great. i have had a lot of people ask me where i got my hair done. I almost dont want to tell them bc then hell be booked when i want to go!

I've been going to John Gabriel Salon for over a year now. I started going to the salon because it's right on my block. I've continued because I've been very happy with the cuts I've been getting. I have curly hair which is difficult to cut. He understands curly hair and is able to listen when you explain what you're looking for. John also does my color and highlights, which are soft and natural-looking. The salon is small and inviting with a relaxing atmosphere. I agree with the previous reviewer who mentions John's sense of humor. He keeps me laughing throughout the appointment.

My friend has been going to John for years and convinced me to try him out. I gave John a chance and received the best hair cut of my life!! My hair has never looked so good! I love him!

Not only is John a talented hair stylist he is funny! He had me laughing during my entire hair cut. You can tell he truly cares about each and every one of his clients. He spent time explaining which styles would look good on me and why. I really learned a lot from him!

I also could not believe how inexpensive he was! I have never seen such a great stylist in New York charge such low prices.

The John Gabriel Salon recently opened at 508 East 12th Street in Manhattan. I stopped in one day for a consultation with John Gabriel, and soon after made an appointment for a hair cut and color. I finally found someone who knows how to cut my curly hair. I liked the color so much that I made a second appointment for highlights which came out beautifully. The salon is small, low key and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. I saw another customer with a beautiful straight hair cut so John Gabriel can evidently cut any kind of hair. Highly recommended!
