They're great! Everyone in the office also seemed to enjoy their experience that weekend as well.
I was a walk-in customer on a weekend. No other place was open but them and they assisted me and i put the money down for my apartment that same day. I have read reviews that they are not a good office but i totally disagree. I personally recommend this place for anyone looking to rent an apartment in Astoria. It's easy to get to from the R, V, W, & N and take you where you need to go if you have no car. Service is premo and they treat you like family.

I had the SAME experience as PlainJane!!! A friend referred me to Evan's Realty because I guess she was one of the lucky few that had a positive experience with Phivo.
I was looking for a 2 bedroom -the most I was willing to spend is $1700.
He found me a gorgeous apartment that he assured me was mine for $1700 only if I waited for an entire month. I paid all the money upfront including broker fee, because he said he will give to the owner as a "deposit".
When the time came to move in, he told me the owner is raising the rent to $1950. HE WAITED LAST MINUTE TO TELL ME?!
Knowing I could not afford that, I asked him for my money back. He gave me the run-around to get it back; forcing me to feel like a stalker, calling his office constantly. After a month I finally got my money back. Needless to say, he takes money from people, making them chase him to get it back. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and read all about him online before gambling with your luck.

Looking for an apartment for months is frustrating. Dealing with unprofessional con artists taking advantage of your need is WRONG and DISGUSTING!!!
I have been living in Brooklyn all my life and was looking to move to ethnic Astoria. I do not know anyone there and unfortunately, was never warned about the criminal on the loose: Phivo. He found me a great apartment, which only could be mine if I had the deposit in cash in his hand by the following day (although the apt would not be ready for another 2 months). Thinking I struck gold, I gave him the deposit just as he asked.
Preparing to move for 2 months, all my things in boxes, my original apartment in Brooklyn quickly found a new family to occupy it.
Excited and eager, 3 days before move-in day, I went into Evan's Realty to get tips on the neighborhood. In his office was a pretty Arab girl in her 20's - yelling at Phivo about a personal matter. From the looks of it, that was his girlfriend.
Anyway, after she stormed out of the office, I sat down to get advice from the friendly man who knows Astoria very well -Phivo. He tells me the landlord suddenly changed his mind and does not want me to move in.
You can imagine how I felt at that point. I asked him for my deposit, he tells me I must come back the following week for it.
I was not in any mood to argue so I just said OK. A week later, I got my deposit and a storage for my things and now I live with a friend until I find a place.
DO NOT GO TO EVANS REALTY!!!!!!!!!

It's a very painful experience to deal with Phivos, who is the broker of Evan's Corner Realty. They show you very nice place and after you put your deposit, they keep giving you a lot of execuses. Basically, they just try to convince you to put down your deposit and then ask you to see other places they have.I spent almost one month to deal with them and still could not move in the place which I had already signed the contract.

Its obvious that these people not only have NO professional sense in the real estate market, they are scammers and they may be using the same way to cheat their customers. I was one more customer that had given rent, deposit and fee after I looked at an amazing apartment I fell in love with. The lease agreement with the landlord's meeting kept being postponed every other day. This song and dance routine continued for almost a month, while they kept my money. I was counting on them and trusted that they were going to keep their end of the bargain and lease me the apartment (which they claimed was 100% mine). I am now homeless with no apartment- thanks to Phivos! But thank god for my lovely aunt who took me in to live. BE AWARE!!! Phivos will "take care of you" in a very bad way. Also I would like to communicate with other victims of this case, as I wanted to see if the realty co. is using the same "amazing" apartment for all of us.

Peter83-I had a similar experience to yours with a building on 30th St in Astoria by Astoria Blvd. Is that the building you saw?

I worst experience that i had in my whole entire life, First they were EXTREMELY unprofessional. He found me an apartment that i fell in love with and after I gave him first month, deposit, and brokers feehe promised me an apartment that I would never see when i tried to get my money back he gave me the run around PLEASE BEWARE I am not the first person that has been scammed by them. they promise an apartment and never deliver

I went to rent an apt from mr phivos at Evans Corner realty and he took my deposit and rent. The day I was supposed to move in he said that the apt was rented to someone else.I had no place to live and no money because he kept my moneyfor more than month. I gope nobody go through this. Evans Corner Realty is a Scam! And this guy Phivos a thief.
