OMG! I CAN SEE!!!!
I have been wearing glasses since the third grade and today I can see with my own eyes! Thanks to Dr. Coad!! I love this place. I researched a bunch of laser centers, but my friend kept encouraging me to check out Chelsea Eye. She goes for cosmetic treatments, but loves the doctors and told me to check out their LASIK options. The LASIK lady recommended that I do iLASIK because it's the best kind of LASIK. No other place I went to even explained the differences in LASIK procedures to me. And, they did all kinds of tests on my eyes to make sure the procedure would be safe. Their staff is awesome, but what really made my decision was Dr. Coad. He is the sweetest man and very thorough. And, he spent time with me explaining every step. I felt like a member of his family. I highly recommend you check them out if you are interested in LASIK.

The Best Decision I've made in years
After exhaustive research and shopping around many lasik doctors in NYC, I finally decided upon Chelsea Eye. I was terribly blind and hated wearing my glasses and the expense of contacts became too much. I've been thinking about lasik for many years and was simply too afraid. But when I met Dr. Coad and Alicia I knew I was in the right hands. They were terrific!! The entire staff was just amazing .. the put my fears to ease and I knew once they said what I was to receive was the same thing used for fighter pilots I couldn't go wrong. I am thrilled with my vision . I now have a knew lease on life!!

Please do some research Before deciding
I have played baseball for many years and have been told to try out professionally. Every time I would try out for some big team, my eyes would always be the problem. I usually wear contacts when I play, which easily fall out at times, costing me big errors.
Since the league prohibits players from wearing glasses on the field, I have to wear these big nasty goggles, which are very ugly looking and annoying. I finally considered LASIK. I decided to go to 3 places before making my decision.
Chelsea eye center is a bite off ! They try to mix skincare and LASIK together but in a sour and untasteful way! They have a LASIK coordinator that has no clue about LASIK. I-LASIK was all they talked about and they have not even examined my eyes. They tried very hard to say they were the best. I was fooled by the internet reviews. They were way below average.
I was able to actually have my surgery done in two weeks following this consultation at another laser center. Now, I am playing better then ever and the ball has been clearer then I have ever seen. My batting average went up .050 in two weeks and I will eventually try out for a big team again come next season.

A great place for vision correction
The front desk staff is wonderful. They are friendly, courteous, constantly smile and, most importantly, take the time to explain the procedures to you. We all know how many forms you normally have to sign at the doctor's office - the Chelsea Eye staff take the time to explain everything to you. So you have clear expectaions and no surprises.

I've seen a miracle!!
My name is Anna and I had Lasik in January 2009 with Dr. Eviatar. I woke up the next morning and sat on the edge of my bed looking at how everything was so clear. I absolutely would recommend Dr. Eviatar and Chelsea Eye Associates to anyone looking for a Lasik expert with tons of experience. Great office, great staff, and amazing doctor!

Long-Term Lasik Success with Chelsea Eye & Cosmetic Surgery
I had Lasik back in 2000 (performed by Dr. Joseph Eviatar) and have had perfect vision ever since. Up to that point in my life, I had worn corrective lenses since early childhood. The process was quick, painless and my vision normalized within a few quick weeks - has been 20/15 ever since. The staff at Chelsea Eye has been wonderful and has provided great support services, responsive care and top notch customer service. I continue to have great experiences with this group and would highly recommend them to any of my family and friends.

Lasik Eye surgery on a World Cup Champion
My name is Tracie Max Sachs and I'm a five time World Cup Champion in Speed Skiing. I've been a patient of Dr. Coad at Chelsea Eye for over 10 years now. I have always been very happy with the medical care I was given at Chelsea Eye. Dr. Coad and his staff are always incredibly friendly, helpful and caring. Weather you are a top notch athlete like myself, or just the average New Yorker, you will find that you are taken care of the same way. I know personally, because I became a patient of Dr. Coad before I achieved all of my success in skiing.
When Dr. Coad and Chelsea Eye offered to sponsor me with Custom Lasik Eye surgery, I jumped at the chance. I saw this as an opportunity to improve on my skiing career, and change my day to day life with the difficulties I had wearing glasses and contacts.
I was invited to the office to undergo the appropriate examinations and it was determined that I was a perfect candidate. After 2 weeks of wearing no lenses, I had the surgery.
Dr. Coad was amazing throughout the procedure. He really made me feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed.
I had the surgery done on November 15, 2007. It has been several months since my surgery and I'm still amazed by the changes in my daily life. Not only am I still able to compete at a world class level, I can enjoy simple things like riding my bicycle, and running around the city, or even just watching a foreign film and reading the subtitles without strain. My close up vision is still very accurate and it makes my jewelry fabrication business much easier to deal with as well.
This is the best decision I've ever made in my life. I'm so thankful to Dr. Coad and his generosity. I would trust this man with my life, not just my eyes.
If you choose to do this surgery or any other procedure with Dr. Coad and Chelsea Eye, you will find new beginnings in your world.
Good Luck!

An extraordinary physician and a caring, giving human being.
After having had several surgeries within a very short time to treat a nasty cancer (aren't they all, though), my body was suffering in all kinds of ways -- one of which was ophthalmic: I had sustained two corneal abrasions -- one in each eye -- during two of the surgeries. When I was discharged from the hospital, I was a wreck -- scared, weak, thin and dehydated, and with a non-stop screaming pain in my eye. I needed help, but I was too weak to leave my home to seek treatment.
I contacted CEA and described my symptoms and my dilemma.
A normal ophthalmologist probably would have told me to hang in there and come see him when I felt up to it. But Dr. Coad is not a normal ophthalmologist (CEA is not your run-of-the-mill medical practice). Dr. Coad is not only an outstanding physician, but an extraordinarily kind and generous man who, without batting an eyelash, offered to make a house call -- in the freezing cold night of a New York City winter, to a patient whom he hardly knew. He took care of me, he was kind and decent to me, he made me feel better when he could have been home and warm. Go to him. You'll not find better.

Great Eye Doctor
Cataract Surgery at Chelsea Eye Associates
After noticing that my vision seemed to be deteriorating, I made an appointment to see Dr. Christopher Coad at Chelsea Eye Associates. To say that I was nervous would be a major understatement. Friends had told me that cataracts could leave me blind (wasn't true but scared me); my family told me that cataract surgery involved lasers?in my eyes!
So it was with a great sense of relief that I met with Dr. Coad and his caring staff. They immediately made me feel like I was in caring hands. The technician did a thorough exam before I saw Dr. Coad. With a very gentle manner, he explained the often confusing medical terminology regarding cataracts. He explained the need for surgery and I agreed to have the procedure the following week. I left his office feeling confident that I was in good hands.
Thursday came quickly and I went to the NY Eye and Ear Infirmary for cataract surgery on my left eye. Dr. Coad?s calm and reassuring manner made me feel comfortable and confident that all would be well. Less than an hour later, I was in the recovery room. At my post-observation on the next day, Dr. Coad confirmed that the procedure went perfectly. Confidently, I agreed to have cataract surgery on my right eye.
Like the previous week?s procedure, all went well. Today my vision is excellent. The cloudiness and poor vision are gone. It?s a pleasure to read a book or magazine again. Dr. Coad and his caring staff at Chelsea Eye Associates have really changed my life for the better. Thank you!
